I saw a really silly clip about a philosopher…

It stated that you cannot be a good person until you know how much evil is in you.

Pure garbage.

This sort of philosophy is aimed at a certain kind of person that does nothing to be a good person only to look for excuses to not move and do.

Being good is action not a state of being at any particular time.
Imagine not practicing being good just because you have no idea of the amount of evil you are capable of?
So do you practice evil until you find your limit?
These quasi philosophers sit at home and think up BS while there are people actually doing good without recognizing or measuring their evil.
So is the good you do only relative to the evil you contain?
Silly isn’t it ?
Go ahead and do all the good you want being ignorant of the evil you may or may not contain/restrain
You are not evil. You DO evil. You are not good. You DO good.
Ignore this idea of having a “possible Good to Evil Ratio” you cannot measure.
Action. That is what makes you. Not untested useless states of probable being.
